What is Performance Visioning?
Performance Visioning (PV) is a County-wide program designed to evaluate success in every County department by measuring progress on selected departmental performance measures. PV is a core business function of the County, operated in a two-year cycle that begins with a PV Plan (which identifies departmental performance measures) in advance of each two-year period and ends with the Performance Outcomes Report (which reports on data and progress on departmental performance measures) to document results and lessons learned.
Why does the County engage in Performance Visioning?
The County engages in Performance Visioning (PV) to support the County’s Vision, Mission, and Values, which are the foundation upon which the County operates to deliver services and programs. County Leadership remains committed to identifying and communicating the essential performance measures of each County Department. PV challenges the County organization and all department leaders to answer one straightforward, but complex, question: “What does success look like?”
By engaging in PV, we remain committed to focusing on our collective future, for the organization and our departments, and for the community at large. This effort will provide the framework necessary for developing a shared vision of success between the Board of Supervisors and County Departments.
